2008 Texas State Democratic Convention

2008 Texas State Democratic Convention
June 5-7, 2008
Austin, TX
At the State Democratic Convention, committed Democrats from all across Texas will come together to set the course of the Party, elect delegates to the National Convention, and formally nominate our statewide Democratic candidates. To learn more about how to become a delegate, please read the delegate selection brochure.
The TDP's reserved block of over 2000 hotel rooms sold out in less than 48 hours as Delegates and Alternates from all across Texas made their arrangements to come to Austin. The Texas Democratic Party is working to secure additional rooms, but if you are a Delegate or Alternate looking to book accommodations in Austin, we recommend you use a site such as Expedia, Travelocity, or Hotels.com.
If you are interested in being a Delegate or Alternate to the National Convention, you need to declare your candidacy by downloading this form, filling it out, and delivering it to the TDP between April 21st and May 21st. You do not even need to be a delegate to the State Convention to be a candidate.
Below are some frequently-requested State Convention documents:
Senate District 9 Convention:
Senate District 9 Delegates and Alternates to the State Convention can be found here.

Duplicated have been removed (i.e., if someone was named as an Alternate from their precinct and then named as an At-Large Delegate, their name has been removed from the Alternate list).
The originals of all these documents have been retained by Senate District 10 Convention Chair Linda Cozzen.

A Special Thank You to Senate District Conventions Attendees:
The Tarrant County Democratic Party wishes to extend a THANK YOU to all Senate District Conventions Delegates, Alternates, Contributors, Officials and Volunteers.
THANK YOU for your patience, understanding, and participation in these extremely large conventions. It was a long day for all involved.
The Party's resources were stretched to the limits, but we came together as DEMOCRATS and we will move on to victory in November!
Please Help Now!
The historic vote in the 2008 Primary has stretched our resources to the limit. The conventions cost $20,000, far more than the $3,000 we usually spend and budget on the conventions.
Please help now! Cleaning up government is the responsibility of us all! Please, click here to make your contribution today.
Star-Telegram Democratic Party Blog:
The Star-Telegram Editors have put up a new blog that is written by delegates to the conventions:
